Reviewer Guidelines
Review articles for the JNE must accomplish two primary goals: (1) they must summarize accurately but concisely the content of the work reviewed, and (2) they must provide unbiased evaluations of the work's quality and relevance to the JNE's readership of teacher educators, educational researchers, and other education professionals. Reviewers are encouraged to be keenly analytical in assessing each work's significance and contents. Make your review an article of quality and utility, but please remember that it is a book review - limit your text to essential comments only. Reviews should not exceed three (3) typed, double-spaced pages. Each of the following questions, as applicable, must be answered:

What is the purpose and scope of the work being reviewed?

What point(s) of view predominate(s)?

What is the author / editor's background - that is, what gives him / her the authority to address the subject(s) at hand?

On what principle(s) does the author / editor select and arrange the material included, and how appropriate and effectual is this method of presentation?

Does the work achieve its objectives to the reviewer's and / or its reader's satisfaction?

What, specifically, are the work's strengths and weaknesses?

How does this work compare to others that address similar or related subjects?

Does the work include any reference features such as indices, bibliographies, or appendices? If so, how useful are these features? If not, what features are lacking?

For what audience / readership is this work most useful?
The following information should precede each review article in the following format:
Full Title: Subtitle , edited by / by Author/s Name/s. City of Publication, State of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication, xxx pp. $xx.xx, cloth or paper.
Reviewed by Reviewer's Name, Institution of Affiliation .
Books for Review: Publishers/authors who would like their book(s) reviewed should send (2) copies for review. Books will not be returned. Book/Media Review Editor(s) make the final choice of books for review.
